Treadwell Cuisine, Niagara-on-the-lake

After being a diehard Maoz fan in Europe, I was delighted to find my favorite Falafel vegetarian chain in Chicago. Maoz’s signature dish is the Falafel as the centerpiece of a sandwich or salad with a variety of toppings such as Hummus, Babaganoush, Feta cheese etc. What’s unique is that they even have a vegan shawarma! The Juice Stand completes your meal with fresh fruit blended juices from ABC to healthier options with Kale and Celery

Ethiopian cuisine is sorely missed in Asia and DC is said to be the “capital” of Ethiopian food outside of Ethiopia. Das Ethiopian was started by a vegetarian lady about 5 years ago who is extremely welcoming and friendly. Ethiopian food is characterized by the several spicy vegetable dishes, local cheese and salads, served on injera, a large sourdough pancake made of Teff flour (Similar to quinoa). As you can imagine Ethiopian food is quite hearty and healthy given the balance of proteins and vegetables.
