Having recently relocated offices to Bugis, I have been quite thrilled by the numerous cafes around Bugis, Kampong Glam and if you wish to go a bit further, Raffles Place.
With quaint cafes to modern restaurants that cater to every palate and pocket here are a few of my favorites for a work lunch. Keep watching this space for more cafes every week.
I am… a lovely corner café that captures the hustle and bustle of Bugis and the historic Kampong Glam. Vegetarian options are a bit limited, however I am serves some amazing Hot lemon tea with honey and thick cut Dutch Fries with assorted mayo dips. For the green lovers try the Portobello burger or the Go Veggie Go Pizza with their special homemade sauce.
Budget: $10- $12 / head
Looking for a restaurant for a colleague’s birthday, team lunch or a memorable work celebration? Garibaldi is conveniently located between Bugis and City hall nestled in the shop houses on Purvis street. Although the a la carte menu is quite expensive, the best value for money is the Set lunch. With both Veg and Non-veg options for the Set lunch, Garibaldi plates up some delectable soups, salads and pastas. Not to forget the espressos and dolce to end on a sweet note!
Budget: Set Lunch Menu: @$39++ per head
Right off Raffles Places on 50 Market Street is NomVNom that closely resembles Vegan Burg. Step in to believe the range of Vegan burgers with no egg, no dairy and yet very yummy. Most of the burgers have soya based patties while a few are potato based. All the buns are multigrain and that’s a big thumbs up for those who are seeking healthy burgers. Sounds like an oxymoron doesn’t it? Try the Nom Nom, Otak (Japanese Seaweed) and Dhal burger. If you are feeling indulgent, get a portion of Truffle fries with truffle mayo (eggless) on the side.
Budget: $6-$10 / head
